Norfolk State’s Thomas Ealey Invited to USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp

Another major honor has come the way of Norfolk State standout Thomas Ealey, who has been invited to participate in the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp. The invitation places Ealey among the nation’s 56 top draft-eligible and draft-ineligible collegiate players competing for an opportunity to represent Team USA on the international stage.

“We are incredibly proud of Thomas and this well-deserved honor. Thomas is a special player and deserving of this honor. This is an exciting opportunity for him to showcase his skillset on the national stage, competing amongst the best players in the country. It is a historic accomplishment for our program as well, and Thomas is the perfect ambassador to represent NSU on the national stage.”

– Norfolk State head coach M.L. Morgan.

The sophomore two-way standout has emerged as one of the most dynamic players in HBCU baseball. During the 2026 season, Ealey led Norfolk State with a .370 batting average while collecting 74 hits, scoring 48 runs, stealing 35 bases, and making contributions on the mound as a left-handed pitcher. His all-around performance earned him recognition on the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Watch List and national attention throughout the season.

Ealey’s invitation is another significant milestone for both the player and the Spartans program. USA Baseball’s Collegiate National Team has long served as a showcase for many of the nation’s elite amateur players before they advance to professional baseball.

For Norfolk State, Ealey’s selection highlights the continued growth of the program and demonstrates that elite talent can emerge from the HBCU ranks and earn recognition on the national level. As he heads to training camp, Ealey will have the opportunity to compete against some of college baseball’s best while pursuing a spot on Team USA’s final roster.

The illustrious camp takes place from June 25 through July 4 in North Carolina.
